Chonte Keene has been serving on the POA Executive Board as the Secretary since 2020. She is one of only two civilians who serve on the board. She attended Riverside City College, receiving associate degrees in Administration of Justice and Social and Behavioral Studies, along with many different certifications through the Administration of Justice Program. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration through California Coast University.
Chonte works as the inaugural Crime Scene/Property and Evidence Specialist for the Menifee Police Department. She began her law enforcement career with the Hemet Police Department in 2014 as a Property and Evidence Technician. During her time there she assisted with crime scenes, and advanced her knowledge in the field as well as in the property room. She is serving as President of the Inland Chapter of California Association of Property and Evidence, where she advocates for her peers in the chapter and ensures that they receive training opportunities and resources. She is an Explorer Advisor, as well as continually attending community engagement events. Within the police department, she has worked to ensure a comprehensive and easy-to-utilize forensic program that continues to grow.
Aside from her roles within our profession, she is a wife, mother to two beautiful children and dog mom to three cuddle bugs. On most days off, you can find her running around Disneyland with her family or advancing her DIY skills in her home. She looks forward to serving the Menifee community for many more years, and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the POA and her coworkers.
