Alberto Balcazar has been a law enforcement officer for 10 years. Before he was in law enforcement, he worked as a bartender at TGI Friday’s in La Jolla while completing his bachelor’s degree in sociology from San Diego State University (SDSU). He is currently enrolled in a master’s program that will be complete in April 2023. In 2014, he was hired by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, where he successfully completed their Academy. In June 2016, he lateraled to San Bernardino Police Department (SBPD). After successfully completing their field training officer program (FTO), he worked as an FTO and was assigned to several specialized assignments. He lateraled to the Menifee Police Department in 2020 and is currently assigned to the traffic division.
One of the main reasons Alberto wanted to serve for the Menifee Police Officers Association is because, since the initiation of the Menifee Police Department, he has been impressed with the respect and care for its officers from the community and from within the department itself. It is evident that there is a large amount of mutual respect throughout the entire department. It is his honor to serve and secure his community and members of the police association, all with the added benefit of being closer to home and having more precious time to spend with his family.
